NGS supported the Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) team in USAID/Zambia as a part of their preparations for the second Summit for Democracy (S4D) and its resulting high-level visitors to Zambia, which included Vice President Kamala Harris and the Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff. NGS staff ensured the S4D delegation was fully prepared for their visit and enabled USAID/Zambia to take full advantage of the public outreach opportunities of these events. NGS also helped draft and implement a communications strategy for the S4D visit, including press releases, speeches, social media, and supporting USAID personnel on the ground during the events to coordinate media, take photos, and act as site officer. Lastly, support included writing Zambia-specific S4D2 wrap-up blogs and social media content for Agency-wide promotion. NGS has also provided support and training on anticorruption and MERL to USAID/Zambia, as well as support to develop an action plan for the mission to achieve their Democracy Delivers objectives.
